Promoting Education For Members & Their Families

As a member of IASCP, you are no doubt an education-minded person. You understand the value of continuing education and the advancements and benefits it can bring. You also understand the value of a college education for your children.

As an active member, your children and grandchildren are eligible to apply for a scholarship to help fund their education. [An active member is one who attends at least 50% of the scheduled conferences in a five-year period.] This scholarship award can be applied toward attendance at any two or four year college but does not support graduate study.

Scholarship Guidelines

  • Recipients are children or grandchildren of active members of this organization as defined by the Bylaws.
  • Minimum scholarship eligibility shall be an approved member who has been active in IASCP a minimum of three years and has attended a minimum of three of the last six conferences. Candidates of active members with greater than three years membership are eligible as defined in the Bylaws by attending at least 50% of the regular conferences in a five year period.
  • Applicants must be presently enrolled and attending a two or four year college or university as an undergraduate. Graduate school or seeking a higher degree, trade schools, correspondence schools or other technical training schools will not be considered. The college or university must be nationally accredited by that region's National Association of Colleges and Schools.
  • The applicant must have completed a minimum of 24 hours of accredited study and have a grade point average of 2.5 or better (on a 4.0 scale or the equivalent there of) and show evidence of continued enrollment for the next semester taking a minimum of 12 hours and be considered as a full time student.
  • An attached grade transcript and letter from the registrar of the attending school must accompany the application. This must contain the following information. The students name and address, all courses taken and the grades received and the computed total grade point average. The raised seal of the school and signature of the registrar must be on this document. A letter of national accreditation from the school must also accompany the application together with proof of present enrollment meeting the minimum hours of study.
  • The amount of the scholarship will be determined by the scholarship committee taking into consideration the number of applicants and the amount of funds available to disburse. Consideration will be given to future income and potential applications so to be as consistent as possible in awarding the amounts of all scholarship awards. Checks will be made out to the appropriate IASCP member only and never to the student.
  • All applications and requested supporting documentation must be submitted to the Executive Director on or before March 1st, of each year. Applications can be obtained from the Executive Director or from our Web site (www.iascp.com).
  • The Chairperson of the Scholarship Committee will present scholarship awards at the Spring Conference.
  • The Scholarship Committee Chairperson will furnish a copy of the rules, a list of the proposed candidates and the amount recommended to award each candidate to the Board of Directors at the Spring Conference Board of Directors Meeting for their review and approval.
